This may sting a little:
After softening up scandal-encrusted GOP Rep. Don Young (FL-AL AK-AL) with a $100,000 ad buy in July, the Club For Growth is going in for what it hopes is the killing stroke: a massive $350,000 negative ad campaign for the last two weeks of his primary campaign against Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell and state Rep. Gabrielle LeDoux.
A buy of this size is gargantuan for Alaska’s dirt cheap media market, and the ads will likely saturate broadcast and cable to an extreme degree. I’d love to see the point size of this buy, because I bet it’s eye-popping.
Since I imagine Tom Cole would rather have Parnell in the race than Young.
How dumb can you get in order to confuse the opposite district for your own. This is so silly. Go Minnick.
That was for something else.
That sucks.
Well. Say hello to nominee Parnell.
I still think we can make a race of it with him though.
but is a buy of this magnitude from an out-of-state group have potential for some backlash? That might be Young’s best (only) strategy is to blunt these ads and squeak out a primary win. Wishful thinking perhaps, but CFG has a history of going a little too far.
and gabrielle ladoux hasn’t been shy. if i was young, i would tout all i had done, while showing parnell to be an inexperienced, incompetent tool of anti-alaskan interests. i would hit him high and hit him low and if he got up again i’d hit him again.
